Through somewhat random chance, I am getting to try out a weighted blanket tonight, and yes I've only been lying under it for a few minutes but so far I am delighted at how much it has calmed my anxiety.

I've heard of them being good for neurodivergent people and people with chronic pain. But just my common-or-garden anxiety disorders seem to be enough to make a noticeable improvement possible.

I LOVE weighted blankets! They are so calming, and the pressure feels really good on my joints. Glad it works for you!

My limbic system loves weighted blankets. My menopausal body and its hot flashes, not so much.

That sounds amazing. I want to try a weighted blanket as I think it'd help my vestibular system when I'm sleeping. I've just rebooted with meds as I was waking up in the night feeling I was falling and my autonomic nervous system had gone into "anxiety mode". Meds have sorted that but I'm giving them 3 more weeks to see if they help the shoulder pain, so I have a baseline before trying other scary meds.

I haven't used one myself, but I've made half a dozen for people on commission. The next one is a lap sized blanket for a good friend of mine. To help her stay calmer while she works.

I made a weighted shoulder wrap for someone else. I have seen, but not made, weighted vests. Definitely a thing you could have made.

Good to know things are working for you. I've considered weighted blanket as a possibility. I also end up with cat weight on my blanket a lot. I'm sure it's not the same, but it might be similar.

I looooooove my weighted blanket, but I wish I'd gotten a cotton duvet cover for it, because while it's washable, washing it is an epic ungodly pain in the arse involving day long trips to the laundry mat and embarrassing awkward dual language explanations to the nice Lao lady who owns it
