One day I'll not be typing a blog entry on my phone while I'm sitting in bed, but this weekend is not that day!

I'm only home this late because it took a long time to watch Doctor Who -- since we missed it live, thanks to me napping and diffrentcolours misremembering the start time, we thought it'd be no big deal to to catch up on the iPlayer. But there's a bug in the app that meant diffrentcolours had to go to ludicrous geeky lengths to get it on the TV. But he did (and with audio description! which is good because a bunch of stuff in that episode wouldn't have made sense if I hadn't had someone explaining it to me) and it was so good! It was totally worth the wait. But it means it didn't finish until bedtime.

Otherwise the best thing about today was the "Chai Spiced Cider" I had while diffrentcolours and mother_bones ate their lunch at Bundobust. I was listening to them talk about their day and I was talking to them, but mostly I was thinking about that cider. It is the best thing.

They changed the start time it has been 7.10 every ep up til this one and suddenly 6.50 -- a lot of people have probably been caught the same way.

It will always confuse my USian brain that TV shows start at random times and that this isn't consistent from one week to the next: I'm used to shows always starting on the hour or half-hour and it never changes (unless a show was moved to a whole different night or something, but that was a rare and remarkable upheaval). So it never occurs to met that there can even be problems like this..!

What spices did you enjoy in the cider? “Mulled” cider is simply apple juice and cinnamon, as far as I can tell. (Never heard of that drink before).

"Cider" without further description always means alcoholic cider in the UK, so it's different from what I grew up calling apple cider, which was basically apple juice my parents would warn over the stove and put cinnamon candies in!

This is very dry (the barmaid told me people often expect it to be sweet but I was delighted it wasn't). It was a complex flavor, but definitely big on cloves and ginger and I think maybe allspice too.

Yes, I joked that I was glad we had to leave right after I finished the pint, or I'd have wanted more. :)
