When yesterday [livejournal.com profile] tartful_dodger said he always thinks of Nobby Nobbs in Tony Robinson's voice and [livejournal.com profile] shinydan said he thought that he did a pretty good Nobby impression, we quickly started casting our friends in the roles of Discworld characters. I thought I had a pretty good point in that [livejournal.com profile] diffrentcolours would make a lovely Vimes, but Oliver disagreed. And so on.

Then I remembered that at [livejournal.com profile] wildheartofire's birthday-party-before-last, she, [livejournal.com profile] novawildstar and I were talked about as the three witches -- it was the first time all three of us had been in the same place, and when such formidable female personalities are in the presence of a bunch of AFPers, it's probably inevitable -- and I had been dismayed to have been declared the Magrat of the three of us.

Oliver agreed. "You're not Magrat," he said. "You're... you're probably Susan."

This still delights me utterly. I'd love to be anything like Susan Sto Helit.

This is undeniable. But you ARE very Susan. You know, clever beyond measure, slightly magical, narritivium powered and very sexy?

I interviewed a person known to some of us for a job a while back and after I came out of the meeting and bade him farewell a colleague came up to me and said: "Did you just interview Mort?"

I'm probably not supposed to say this, but there are three of us, all female, on the clerking team at my Quaker meeting, and I know which of the witches each of us is.

Incidentally, other than in the context of a three-woman team, I see myself as more of an Angua.

[livejournal.com profile] tartful_dodger clearly smells of badger wee. I'm probably more of a Ridcully than a Vimes, though I appreciate the compliment :)

I don't think you're grubby enough to be Vimes!

:P

Its a combination of your sensibleness, cleverness and the way you keep insisting that you are The Normal One, despite all evidence to the contrary. :)

I would like to be Vimes. Or Vetinari. But I suspect, sadly, that really I'm probably mostly Sybil.

Yeah, it just doesn't suit my megalomaniac streak. ;)

See, now you have to post who you had us all down as. Or we will collectively sulk.

Within the more, ah, creative end of my office team we talked about this a while ago, and decided I'm definitely Nobby on account of having a sex life that makes everyone else there worry :D
