Bed

Curling up in another Holly's bed last night, I mused on how recent events had taught me that other beds seem to be much better than the shitty buy-to-let furnished-flat one I usually have to sleep in. Back in my own bed now -- I can tell from the pain in my hips -- the same thought recurs.

I'd resolve "to sleep in more different other people's beds" but it'd give you all the wrong impression.

(Anyway, Andrew says we're buying a house in a few months which would, it must be said, fix this particular problem, even as it creates rather more.)

We keep saying we're going to have to get a new matress for Holly's bed cos it's getting a bit knackered. Your bed must be REALLY awful :(

Well, here's hoping you get a nice house with a nice bed in it soon *hug*

Gah. I'd say complain to the landlord anyway cos it might make things nicer for the next tenants. But I realise this might take spoonage that you would rather spend elsewhere.

It might be worth telling your landlord about the pain your current bed is causing, asking if they can remove it, and let them know you'd be willing to buy yourself a new one and take it away with you when you leave. You'll have to buy a bed when you buy a house anyway!

Just make sure to buy a good bed. We bought the best bed IKEA sell and we're pretty happy with it over five years later. It wasn't super-cheap but this one of the things where economy doesn't pay.

could you get a mattress pad with memory foam? My mom has fixed a couple of broken-down beds with them in her house.

Another option would be to look for an unfurnished flat and buy your own bed? That could be a stepping stone to buying your own house because it reduces the amount of stuff you need to buy when you move in.

Also, I'm happy to talk in detail about
how much our move cost to help you work out a budget for the upfront costs. I'd recommend the professional I used (IFA,

House-buying sounds exciting! I agree with the people saying that the expense of a really good mattress is a sound investment, too. You spend roughly a third of your life in led after all, so it is worth making sure that is quality time. The frame of the bed isn't so important, but the mattress itself is.
