This must be the worst time of the year for ads.

There's still the residual "spend time with family!" "give the perfect gift!" stuff from Christmas, mixed in with a ton of bullshit surrounding marketing people's ideas of New Year's resolutions, phrased as bullying demands: "Stop smoking!" "Lose weight!"

Here's my advertisement for the holidays:

THERE IS NO MORAL OBLIGATION TO BE HEALTHY, THIN, GOOD TO YOUR FAMILY, OR AN OBEDIENT LITTLE CONSUMER.

I'm shit at lying too. It's so much goddam work, things always get complicated. The straight and narrow isn't all bad, and will no doubt leave you with a greater appreciation for the wide and wiggly when you get to go back to that.
