A Facebook comment worth keeping:

I don't remember my parents ever reading to me, which makes me a little sad, but Andrew does great voices for Jeeves and Wooster, which makes me happy.

James does great reading out loud. It's one of my big comfort things.

This makes me happy too.
I have some recordings of David reading stories that are my magic thing to make me stop thinking and go the fuck to sleep.

I hope I never outgrow the love of being read to, my Dad used to make up the best bedtime stories.
I both read to Andrew and make up bedtime stories on the rare nights we are both home, in bed at the same time and feel like it! Stories are awesome

*grins* Sounds like a lovely thing being read to (not my cup of tea for obv reasons). My dad reads aloud beautifully and my mum loved it because she struggles to do it well (she's too dyslexic I think to relax into it) and he could do all the voices of Winnie the Pooh and stuff. It's one thing I do miss from my parents being together was mum enjoying that.

we want to be read to but soph hates reading out loud. we have listening books but they're not the same *pouts* we used to get read to at night until we were 8 or 9 i think. but we learnt to read pretty fast and would often read to mum instead.
