My life has just gotten a lot easier.

In the time I was taking my CSci final, my history professor e-mailed me back to tell me I can turn in my paper next week.

So now that I have one final out of the way and more time to do that paper, I'm thinking: My Gothic lit paper is nearing completion. (I actually think the thing has some interesting ideas in it! How did that happen?) I'll probably finish it tomorrow; if not, it's not due until Wednesday at 4:00. My other final, grammar, isn't until Thursday.

Not that I don't still have reasons to be stressed and diligent. My Dracula/'Salem's Lot paper does still need a lot of loose-end tying (and I don't think it's quite long enough anyway; I may need to add some more loose ends before I can tie them all together). My grammar final is going to be tough, I know it. And I can't just blow off my history paper just becuase I have another week to do it--I know the point of having another week is to make use of the time.

In other words, it sounds like I still have a reasonable amount of finals stress in my life.

But, compared to what my life's been recently, a reasonable amount of finals stress feels like a frickin' vacation! (oh, sorry, [livejournal.com profile] kratkrat)

Plus, I already felt good today because I think I've done a lot of things.
  • I finally broke down and did the laundry I've been putting off for a shameful period of time, and the experience was painless.
  • I sold my books back, for an astounding $22.
  • I remembered to check my mail and was rewarded by getting a package--a Christmas present! toe socks!
  • I watched Down with Love, a movie Sarah rented yesterday, and was surprised by how much less bad it turned out than what I'd feared it would be.
  • I made a list of things I have to remember to bring home. So far it says
    • fish
    • laptop
    • shoes
    • bike
    • luggage
    • CDs
    • laundry
I think the last one might be there because I had a dream last night that I went home for Christmas break and forgot to bring any clothes with me. Not that this would happen in real life; my dream-self should know that my overprotective mother will ask me repeatedly about everything. Other than that, the thing I'm most worried about forgetting is my fish. I'm probably just paranoid.

In other, equally happy, news: Tonight Josh and Katie and I have plans to get together to eat caramel rolls.

Speaking of food ... I have a sausage DiGiorno pizza in the freezer! I think I'll go make it now.

I tried to get her to give it a name with a joke or some other amusing thing attached, but to no avail. (And don't let her try to convince you that he's named after Philo T. Farnsworth--the man credited with inventing television--because she didn't know about that until after she'd named the fish.)

"You just like to criticize me."

Isn't that what significant others are for? ;-)

Well, Thad never criticizes me - almost to a fault. (It goes without saying that I am faaaaaar from perfect. :-)) But I've been in relationships where I felt like evry little thing I did was... ammunition. :-)

LOL! That's hilarious. And you're right - it does sound like he's got his priorities in order. :-)
