UMM has a bunch of on-campus apartments. They're designated by numbers, 1-6--which basically indicates how far above the ground each is--and the first twelve letters of the alphabet (well, actually it's the first thirteen letters of the alphabet without 'I'; I don't know why they left that one out), since there are twelve sections. So, two years ago I could say I spent a bunch of time in C1 and F3. You get the idea. It's like having an x-y coordinate plane for apartments.

So, my roommates and I live in L4 this year. Soon after Sarah and I moved in, our friend Josh told us randomly that we could say we're elf whores. There's still a sign on the wall in Sarah's and my room that says "Elf Whore" (with "that's us!") added under it), and it's written on the message board outside our door.

Sarah explained this to one of our friends over the phone. "Holly made me a sign that says, 'elf,' you know, like, Legolas, and then, 'whore.' " I think the friend thought she was unduly excited about this.

This entry is much more funny when read from the top down as opposed to the bottom up.
"Elf Whores" - classic...

I'm only mostly sure that Chinese and Japanese are top to bottom, but in columns(I think)...I believe Hebrew may be bottom to top and right to left...and possibly Sanskrit, but I'm pulling that out of my ass basically.

i bet they left out the "I" row because too many people would say "I-6? BINGO!" Granted, there is no I-6 and they can do so with B (correctly) and G, but we both know no one ever wins on those letters anyways. The "I"s always have it.

Boring answer: Easy to confuse I with 1.

Sorry for being so boring.

I've not yet been convinced he's that great an actor. when I went to see Pirates I thought "hmm, at last I'll be able to see and judge outside of Middle Earth..." but then the movie was all about Johnny Depp (not that I'm complaining, because I love Johnny) and I'm still unsatisfied with Orlando Bloom's acting talents.

oh well, I prefer the dirty scruffy human men to the elves, anyway. :P

the dirty scruffy LoTR men. in reality, I rather prefer my men clean and pale. ;)

and I love Viggo too. he's a rare breed on my attractive actor list, because he doesn't have some variation of a UK accent.
