When Andrew came to bed last night he told me he'd e-mailed me a link to an "I Am An Immigrant" essay contest. (Top prize $1000! Which would soon pay our mortgage, etc.etc.)

"How many words?" I asked.

"I think about a thousand," he said.

I can't imagine writing so few on the subject now!
