Whether it's due to cowardice or malice, a lot the most infuriating attempts to silence people, to make the world work a certain way, to gain and keep control, to make oneself look good even if it must be in flagrant opposition to reality...

...so often it's born of fear: the bastards' fear and worry that if they didn't come down so hard on dissent or unpleasant truths, that these things would rise up against them. That love and optimism and kindness would overcome their tools of fear and pain and self-serving suppression.

When I contemplate this, there is nothing I want to do but make sure that love wins.

I was fed lies and unfairness and thoughtless cruelty. I want to turn it all into affection and joy and thoughtful respect.
