"You can't imagine any of the proper Doctors saying that, can you," said Andrew.

"Possibly Colin," James said.

I thought about this for a second, and then said, "But he wouldn't mean it!"

And the spooky thing? Andrew said exactly the same thing at exactly the same time.

He doesn't actually say that - isn't it something like 'I'm the Doctor, I save people?' I think this self-consciousness is an acceptable character development...

I note that James is much more comfortable being rotten about Colin when I'm not in the room

It didn't seem rotten to me; it looked like he'd just thought about it, in the way that most of his and Andrew's conversations seem to consist of answers to interesting hypothetical questions. :)
