greyeyedeve said when I started in on "but the sound would resonate differently off the ocean than it does off land" or "that's the noise of a hummingbird's wings! not wings that big" -- I was reminded there of the first episode of Genius I ever heard, where one of the ideas was "Put spokey dokeys on the Millennium Wheel." and so they played the noise of what "spokey dokeys" would sound like, scaled up to that level, and it wasn't the friendly "clatterclatterclatter" of the normal ones, but this WHHHHHHHOOMP! WHHHHHHHOOMP! WHHHHHHHOOMP! sound, that was hilarious and intimidating all at once.
And that's more the kind of noise those damn wings should have made!
In conclusion: don't watch bad movies with me. I'm much better behaved when I watch a good movie.
