My parents were so busy telling me about their vacation that they never told me when they'd be back.

I know they left last Sunday, so I didnt talk to them then, and of course I missed them yesterday (though since I wasn't at home then, I might have missed them).

See, this is how to do it, parents! Talking to them is a chore when it happens every Sunday evening, often regardless of migraines, me having just made dinner, having nothing to say, and so on. But it is actually something I msis after a while.

Especially this time of year; everybody's talking about family, for good or ill. Without them going on at me about exactly when I arrive and who exactly is coming to pick us up from the airport, the need to scrutinize our itinerary and make vapid comments about the weather in France, how am I going to know its less than a month until Christmas?

My mom did just call, too. As I was finishing making dinner.

Oh and they did get Andrew and I presents, though I can't believe I failed to anticipate that it'd be a t-shirt. The t-shirt is the canonical souvenir, to my parents.
