[224/366] living
Aug. 11th, 2020 09:14 pmDunno why the local blindie charity called me, on my landline for some reason, to tell me they have online socials and an online version of their "Living with Sight Loss" class. I told them years ago that I've been "living with sight loss" my whole life; I already can cook and use a computer and all the kinds of things it teaches people. Those are good and valuable things! But I don't need them. And I don't know why they think that this would have changed in the few more years I've had of living with sight loss since I told them. I'm sure they don't think that; they'll just be chasing people up, maybe covid is shaking things up for them.
What I want is to teach a Living wihle Sighted class to teach people about the social model of disability and barriers they put up and probably don't even know they're contributing to. Or in other words, how to Stop Being Assholes to Blind People.
