zhelena is starting a question-answering meme with one for each day of the year, and I might give it a try. Today's:
Jan 1 What is one thing you’d like to accomplish in 2020?
I think of "getting a decent job as soon as possible after I graduate" as something I need to do rather than something I'd like to do (also it's both boring and unbelievbly stressful an idea, so not a fun answer), so...
I'd like to go on an actual damn holiday, bonus points for it being longer than a weekend because weekends are all I've managed since...whenever it was we went on the canal boat holiday, and how many years ago was that now?!

Otherwise, today was eaten up by mentalism but the evening was nice.diffrentcolours and mother_bones invited all of my little polycule around to watch Doctor Who, but both Andrew and Stuart were poorly so it was just me. We enjoyed it, and I can't wait for Sunday. (If the other boys can make it, we might do a double-bill of this episode before that one starts.)
I nearly fell asleep ondiffrentcolours, snuggled up on the sofa. The neighbors' cat came to play and have treats, as he is prone to doing. We had amazing food cooked by their lodger, who wanted to share to celebrate the new year. It was very sweet that she made sure I was hanging around long enough to have dessert.
It was such a cozy time. I needed that.
