Being an adult means you can lick the bowl/spoon not just when you make cake (like I did last week) but also when you make the nice tahini sauce (with little bits of the broccoli and halloumi and walnuts I put the sauce on, so that they could all got roasted).
This is the second time in like three days that I've made something for my lil family that I used to make all the time that for no particular reason I haven't done in the year I've lived here. (Both times because we got sent home from boxing day family shenanigans with random vegetables we don't usually have fresh: this was to use a head of broccoli of course, and the other day I made this which I learned from an old version of the recipe that specified spinach and carrots so that's still my favorite veg to make it with and we had been given half of a big bag of spinach that needed to be used up.
This broccoli/halloumi/tahini thing is also really nice with dried fruit and/or chili flakes added, btw, I just didn't include them today because we didn't have any now.
It was well-received:
mother_bones said "You realize I might need you to make this all the time." I said I was happy to whenever we have the ingredients, with two heads of broccoli because one hadn't really made enough food for the three of us. Or one and a half, at least. "Two,"
diffrentcolours said, decisively. It sure felt good to have such a vote of confidence in the new dinner!

Date: 2022-01-03 07:35 pm (UTC)Well, I really did try it and absolutely love it. You should ask J what he calls it, 'cos I don't have a proper name for it either!
