My treat for getting the grass cut was a glass of soda water with the new syrup I helped J make at work the other day: rose, lavender and chamomile.

He gave me a little jar of it just as I was leaving yesterday, which is extra sweet because he'd been having a really bad day and I wouldn't have expected him to think of doing something generous to another person at that point.

It's delicious. Really nice after being out in the sun.

My other treat was having the patio door open all afternoon so the nice smell of the freshly cut grass kept wafting in and making me happy.

Freshly cut grass is SO WONDERFUL!

(And I bet it's much better there, the home of the lawn, than here on the prairie where it's screaming for water.)

Smells the same, from what I can tell. :) I've been watching akth concern the drought in Minnesota and other places lately, though. :/

Ooh, that sounds lovely! Do you just make sugar syrup and put the flowers into it?

I think so, but I was only around for the "putting dried flowers in hot water" part; the sugar must have been added later.
