[175/365] bus meeting redux
Jun. 24th, 2019 06:43 pmOne of the things I learned at the bus meeting last week is that deviers who get positive feedback can be commended with things like £20 vouchers. I've tried to compliment good service on twitter anyway (so it doesn't look like I'm just complaining, and I do want to encourage people to do what they're already supposed to be doing; I want them to know it's appreciated and it does make my day better) but I made a mental note that I should be sure to do this.
And today when I was getting a bus after work, the driver told me what number it was when I got on. So I sent a quick tweet (with the usual litany of service, date, time and location for a nice reason, for once!) about this and got a reply that make me laugh so hard I could hardly breathe:

We had a meeting with the RNIB society last week and we have been reminding drivers to stop, pull in close and inform passengers of their bus number. I am pleased to hear that this is paying off.Of course she had no idea that she was talking to the one person at that meeting who wasn't RNIB or Stagecoach, but still. I pointed out in my reply that it's a bit much to say it's paying off. I've had just as many 192s zip past me without stopping, and this is so far just the usual frequency (once a month or so, maybe less) of drivers telling me what number they are.
