tfw you feel like it's Friday all afternoon and you're SO READY for the weekend and then you remember it's Thursday and you have homework you're too tired to do now so you need to go to bed and do it tomorrow morning.

...only to then remember that you have a meeting tomorrow morning, right when you planned to do the homework so now you have to get up really early.

That is the most not-Friday that today could be!


Tried to explain the meeting to Andrew, mostly failed (I'm not sure myself, that's part of the reason I failed), he said "is this one of the times you're being punished for being disabled?"

I'm like yeah, actually, that's a concise and accurate description.

(The meeting is the next one with this lady. Hopefully she recognizes me this time, eh?)

I know! I wanted to write it down because I thought it was so good. :)

It'll never happen because we're already at the end of Week 4 (i.e. a third of the way through the semester) but last time she told me I'd been allocated 35 hours and I asked if that was for this year and she said no, it was for the semester, and I'd get 35 more next semester and so on, and I nodded and tried very hard to make sure my face did not give away that I was thinking 35 hours is a lot of time and I don't have it spare for you!

I mean, DSA have paid for like 17 hours of training on my software and gadgets too? I've had three or four and will need one or two more (even getting that out of them has actually taken two months, so 17 hours would probably not happen before I graduated!). I've had to miss other (nice but not essential) stuff in order to fit that training in already.

Most of this uni stuff is great but sometimes I feel like yelling Disabled people do not get more hours in the day than abled people, you know!

Hope meeting went OK and was actually useful.

Don't worry about using up the AT hours training, that's cos it's harder to add hours than it is to allocate a basic amount and you not use em up, esp because blind students often need longer in training than other groups...

It's fascinating seeing what pisses you off which I'd just taken as 'the way it is' from both sides. I got very cranky about having to prove my impairments tho...

Oh I'm not worried about it, but I'm really not enjoying the AT training, I am finding the people doing it a little condescending, a little not explaining things properly. But I don't care, u just want it done with.

I probably have been allocated enough time for a totally blind person who isn't used to computers, and that's fair enough. It was just the idea of trying to fit all these hours into my life which seems to have no free time that was exhausting me. :)

And like I say, I'm getting one hour a week from this psychotherapist lady so it won't be anything like 35 but one a week is plenty. :) I don't know if it'll be useful but it isn't terrible or anything, not yet anyway.
