Sometimes it's better to light a flamethrower than curse the darkness

Another sad thing is that if I do want or need to go home soon, I'll then almost certainly have to miss the wedding of one of my best friends, also in the US... a wedding I'm supposed to officiate at! I've been looking forward to that for a long time, and I really want to send her off to the US (she's from Glasgow) with my love and as close as I can get to a blessing, so I'd be devastated to miss that even if it weren't for the fact that I'd be missing it for such a somber occasion...
