The world in solemn stillness lay

When we finally went to bed, the glow of the moonlight off the snow lit up the whole room. And I could see a million stars outside my bedroom window.

I miss the stars as much as Mexican food or baseball, proving what I've been saying a lot again: the differences between the US and the UK aren't as great as the differences between growing up on a farm and living in a city.

With all the obvious reasons for being glad I'm here for Christmas, I didn't notice until now how glad I am to spend the longest night of the year somewhere than I can really appreciate the night.

It has its moments. :) There are major downsides to all the snow and the isolation, but I never knew anything else until I moved to Manchester and I miss them, right or wrong. I hope your Christmas is wonderful too!

I love that word makes. The stars don't invite or inspire him to dream; they compel him. I think, sometimes, that I could say the same.
