Sound bite

LiveJournal posts require network access, time, and motivation to write. One or more of those things has always been lacking for me recently, so even though I've just spent several days in the company of comradexavier, dazztardly, greenflower, josh8e, millabates, paninogirl, soltice and/or the_forecast (yes, all my real-life friends seem to have an LJ by now), and had a really good time, my journal doesn't mention any of this. An oft-noted LJ truism is that times when one is busy or having fun in real life are times when one is not as likely to talk about it in LiveJournal.

So after days of adventures and tasty food and good conversations and fun, I don't necessarily want to talk about any of that. I just wanted to say that a bit ago when ivana_duboise emerged, still half-asleep, from his bedroom, he saw me sitting on the couch petting the cat and said, "Oh! Hi!" and I smiled at his surprise; he knew I was coming. I pointed that out and he said, "Yes, but I didn't expect you to be in my living room! When my pants were unzipped!"

It never really occurred to me that getting one's real-life friends to use LJ was a wish or a goal of anyone else's; in my case it's mostly just happened. Some actually asked me about it becasue thty thought I made it look interesting or something, some did randomly or independently, some were influenced by other friends (paninogirl just talked millabates into it). So it just happened, without me having to think about it. But now that I do think about it, it's nice to have this be an accepted form of interaction; it's a good way to keep in touch with some people I might not hear from otherwise.
