Darren, his co-worker Nora, and I have decided that there should be talking vibrators.
The first suggested sound effects included Darren making the noise he makes to indicate what his car sounds like with no muffler, Nora making orgasmic noises à la Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally, and Darren posing a simple (but important!) question: "is this thing on?"
At Perkins Darren and I expanded the list. He wanted songs such as "Eye of the Tiger" ("I just think of Rocky running up the stairs") and "Ride of the Valkyries." I added "Chariots of Fire." Another idea (slightly) inspired by music is something like the "Keep going! You're doing great!" things you hear whilst playing Dance Dance Revolution. (Well, other people hear those. Apparently. I only hear "Ha, you suck at this!")
Darren likes "Are you my mommy?" and wants something about spelunking. I preferred remarks on the local environment, such as "It's dark in here!" and "Oh, it's all sticky!" (an Eddie Izzard line ... though he was talking about the moon).
Then there are "We're gonna have to go right to ... ludicrous speed!" and "Thank you, but the princess is in another castle!", pop culture references of which I am particularly fond.

Date: 2005-02-20 03:59 pm (UTC)"Are you my mommy" would result in one dildo smacked against the far wall, and my thorough squickedness. And "spelunking" would remind me of my ex-husband (who referred to the deed that way, IIRC), with much the same result. Just sayin'.

Date: 2005-02-20 05:32 pm (UTC)It'd be funnier if I had a girlfriend, though, so I could pretend it was normal and then scare her with it when it started talking (or playing music) and then laugh.
But that, by itself, isn't quite enough reason to become a lesbian, so the women of the world are still safe from me.
