Last year I thought it was National Talk Like a Pirate Day, but today I find that it's International Talk Like a Pirate Day. (Which is good, because I am in a different country now, and would hate to be left out.) Here's the website I learned that from, which also has many good examples of how to, in fact, talk like a pirate. You can't just say "arr!" all the time and expect that to convince anyone. Well, except these modern pirates, who do that themselves and often seem to be just lusting after Johnny Depp ... the state of pirates these days is depressing. They be land-lubbers and scallywags, all of 'em!

Speaking of modern pirates, the best bit of this website is at the bottom:
(Also, be ye aware that savvy an' parlay be no more piratical than a scurvy KaZaA landlubber usin' dialup: they be invented by Disney for their film. The real pirates' code be here - be notin' that parlay not be in thar!)

10. The penalty for bringing a woman aboard in disguise is death.

Now, is that the woman who is in disguise, or the pirate bringing her onboard? And if either are trans, does it still count?

Hum, so does that mean instead of double rations of grog, it's extra doses of hormones?

Of course, I can imagine if one were to give a ship full of trannies too much grog, things would get...confusing.

You just want to see the desks littered with binders and breastforms, don't you?

I expect the animated version would be a futanari flick, actually. Although I could imagine Joey Silvera directing a live-action version...

Of course you do.

That's the rumor.

It's also what everyone seems to love about me.

You people are strange. Maybe that's why I love you.

:)

And a silly one too.

Somehow, I think you may be [livejournal.com profile] holly_lama's revenge on me for introducing her to LiveJournal.

I thought being on the receiving end of revenge was supposed to be unpleasant. Clearly, I've been missing something. :)
