Andrew just told me, 'You can get USB vibrators!'

'What?'

'You can get USB vibrators,' he repeated.

'Yeah, I heard ... but ... USB?'

'You plug it into your computer, and it works!' he said.

I know what USB means ... but I hadn't been at all sure what to think of this until that oint, when my brain suddenly knew exactly what it thought of this phenomenon. 'That's awesome, I want one.'

He laughed.

I don't see how people could think we're geeks.

Hmmm, if it goes through the USB port, I wonder if you can turn it on or off, from software? Maybe later versions can have variable intensity and a web interface...

I googled it and the first thing I clicked on said it had '10 different speeds and sensations.' I don't know if it's variable by software, though, or something more boring like a switch. :-)

It also says 'Be one with your computer,' though, which is just creepy.

USB Vibrators

I know they sell USB vibrators (for massage use) at most electronic stores like Best Buy. I picked up my geek friend a USB vibe for his birthday, he was quite pleased. I didn't see software or anything, I think there was a switch, it is powered by the USB port.

My USB ports are in the back of the tower though. I would hope the cord would be long enough...

Many people's are. I'd imagine that'd be taken into account. Oh, the trails and tribulations of USB-vibrator designers... ;-)

I believe current models merely use the USB port for power. Future models should include software and remote control ability.
