I did get 'regular sized man' from a real sentence in a real book, the book I am reading, which is called Are YOU Dave Gorman? (It's about a guy called Dave Gorman who makes a drunken bet with his roommate that there aren't 'loads' of other people called Dave Gorman, so he finds other people with that name in places like Scotland and France and goes to meet them and take their picture.) It's a good sentence, it goes, It looked like a regular lawnmower with a tiny man on it, but I've dealt with perspective before so I quickly realised it must be a giant lawnmower with a regular sized man on it.

But really, it's not a book to get all excited about, grammatically speaking, because they do silly things like randomly italicize words like 'Tesco' and 'Whopper' and 'Rhône.'

andrew's entirely right though when he says "join me" is the best book of the lot. when "the dave gorman collection" was on telly, it was wonderful but danny gives the book real depth which is what "join me" has in spades

Are You Dave Gorman is such a wonderful book. So cynical about humanity (or possibly just Dave Gormen) at times, and yet so heartwarming and a lovely tale of the ordeals of friendship.

Definetly amongst my favourite (and certainly one of the funniest) non-fictions I've read.

What part are you at now?

heh.. "I want to meet American Soldiers" he says, as he's in the most romantic city in the world with a man people think is his boyfriend.

Classic.

It was a very popular hotel with german homosexuals.

I'm still a fan of meeting Dave #1. "No, I don't believe I know anybody else named Dave Gorman"

If you like that, you should try Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure, and especially Danny Wallace's book Join Me...

I've actually been looking to pick up Gorman's book about horoscopes.
