That thing you do
Jun. 18th, 2004 01:01 amSo Andrew and I are sleepy and decide to go to bed. We cuddle a bit and say cute things to each other, and then settle down to actually go to sleep. And right then for some reason we started talking about the movie That Thing You Do!, and eventually he was trying to tell me about the band that had actually sung that song in the movie. 'They're a famous band,' he said. 'I think the name starts with a W.'
'Really,' I said.
'Yeah,' he said. 'But it's not Wilco.'
I giggled.
'Or Weezer.'
'Weezer? Why on earth would it be Weezer?'
'I'm just saying,' he said. Next he added, 'And it's not Apples in Stereo.' Trying to be helpful, I suppose.
This is getting just silly. 'What? And that doesn't even start with a W!'
'And it's not the Wondermints.'
'Of course it's not the Wondermints! Why would it be?'
'Well, they do lots of different styles. And they did a '60s powerpop song for a '90s comedy film.' (He likes to remind me that the Wondermints did the theme song for the first Austin Powers movie, even though I don't remember the song (or even the movie, really).) 'And it would've been for a band called the Wonders, see.'
But then he said, 'Maybe it starts with an M.'
'An M?!'
'Well, an M is like a W, just upside down, you know...'
It was around this point that I decided I wasn't sleepy anymore and he was going to drive me crazy, so we came downstairs to investigate.
Soon I hear him shouting from the next room 'Fountains of Wayne!' I started laughing. 'See, it sounds like Apples in Stereo!'
'It does not! How--'
'First you have a noun, ending in S. Then...a little word. Then, a word starting wtih W, like Wilco!'
I just laughed at him.
He wandered around the kitchen as I was writing this, saying things like, 'Really, though, you must see how this works!' and 'Don't blame me if my brain doesn't work!'

You have a very nice cute/silly icon; I do not. But then, you might need one, and I do not, as I'm not cute and silly.
You should add him, though; he was cool even before he saw me naked.

You two need to stop being cute. Some people are trying to be happily single here. ;)

Oh my god, I am, aren't I? Hee, hee, didn't realize.

Oh well, if you prefer I save the back rubs just for your LJ, I can. What ever you desire, my Chicken Little.
*bows to your greatness*

Anyway, who used the word 'lots'? ;)
