I haven't thought about Shakespeare at all in years, probably, since I took a whole class about him my freshman year and then was so sick of him I didn't even want to watch Joseph Fiennes play him any more. And here he is, showing up for the second time in a week.

I was thinking about suffering love against one's will, which made me think of this scene from one of my favorite plays ever:
BENEDICK
...And, I pray thee now, tell me for
which of my bad parts didst thou first fall in love with me?

BEATRICE
For them all together; which maintained so politic
a state of evil that they will not admit any good
part to intermingle with them. But for which of my
good parts did you first suffer love for me?

BENEDICK
Suffer love! a good epithet! I do suffer love
indeed, for I love thee against my will.

BEATRICE
In spite of your heart, I think; alas, poor heart!...

BENEDICK
Thou and I are too wise to woo peaceably.
Also, ::hugs:: for Andrew--it hardly seems right to use his LJ name :-)--who had a Bad Day.

Also, Torii Hunter is awesome.

It's been a long time since I've seen the movie, is that passage in the movie as well?
