On a whim, I grabbed a bottle of Sierra Mist instead of my usual Dr. Pepper with lunch today (stupid Pepsi products!). And I won a free iTune!
Which does me no good. So, I'm feelin' generous! Who wants it?
Jenn says I should just post the code and say whoever gets to it first gets it. But that's no fun. Gimme something better than that.
Update: Never mind.
followyourfish tugged on my heartstrings with his tale of not being able to get magical free iTunes in soda bottles where he lives, so I gave it to him.

Date: 2004-02-19 11:33 am (UTC)So some soda bottles have a code on the inside of the cap that you can type in to get a song without paying the dollar they're supposed to cost. That's what I won.
It doesn't do me any good, in case you're wondering, because the software you need to play the songs only works on Macs and Windows XP. Not that I really care about downloading music, anyway; I probably would've given the code away even if it were technically possible for me to use it.
Re:
Date: 2004-02-19 11:41 am (UTC)Do people actually pay to download them when they could steal an mp3? I mean, does it work?

Date: 2004-02-19 11:47 am (UTC)People do actually pay to download them--that's the thing about iTunes, they've sort of taken the market by storm and showing that people would rather pay a dollar for a song they really like than twenty dollars for a crappy CD.
mp3s are still stolen, of course, but I hear (not downloading things myself, of course, I have to rely on what people tell me) that it's getting hard to find good copies of songs now. With iTunes and other services like that, you know what you're getting is of good quality, actually is the song it says it is, etc., and of course you don't have to worry about doing anything illegal this way.
