No apples here
Jan. 20th, 2004 07:37 pmI have a friend who's been to my room a few times in recent months, and each time he looks at my computer he immediately says "Oh, you've got a Mac!" (I can't tell if he's impressed or disappointed by this.) I tell him it's not a Mac ... but haven't gotten around to explaining yet what it is I do have and why I can apparently make it enough like Apple's GUI to confuse him.
This conversational exchange has taken place, almost exactly the same way, two or three times now. One of those was yesterday or the day before; I mentioned to him that he always accuses me, unjustly, of having a Mac.
It occurred to me that I wish I had a screenshot of that pretty blue desktop, so I could use it as my background and confuse him more thoroughly.

In all honesty, a decent Mac might very well be a better computer than the one she has.
