So, how about them Vikes, eh? The first football game I pay attention to all year, and this is what I'm rewarded with: a must-win game against a team that's 12-2 this year, and here I find out that the Vikings, after winning their first six games of the season, have only managed to win two of the last eight.

And they kicked butt! I must say it was one of the more enjoyable trips home from Morris; we listened to about three quarters of the game that way--at least up to the part where we had four touchdowns and a field goal, and KC had not yet scored at all ...

Football's not as fun as baseball, but I do like it when we win.

I like being home; the food is good. After living in an apartment that really had no food for a week or so, it's a mind-boggling change, to open cupboards and see many choices ... most of which don't appeal to me, becuase once again I don't think much like my mother, but hey, it's the idea.

Plus, there's lefse. My grandma always makes it around Christmas, and since she knows I love it, she gave my mom some to put in the freezer for when I came back. I've already eaten three pieces. I mean, I've only eaten three pieces. There are almond-bark-dipped pretzels, too. I love Christmas. I'm not much impressed by any of the kinds of cookies my mom makes, but I do love the candy. Wait until she breaks out the peanut clusters ... or, better yet, wait until Christmas Eve, when we go to my grandma's; she makes peanut butter cups. They're a lot of work, so there aren't many of them, but they're so good, put Reese's to shame. Of course, even they aren't as good as the krumkake I remember from my childhood ... but these days, the most Norwegian my grandma gets is having pickled herring at Christmas, which disgusts me. And the aforementioned lefse. She says I'm the most Norwegian of her grandchildren; I think I'm the only one of them who likes it.

Yes, I am definitely enjoying my Christmas facation. Now I'm going to bed, since I have to get up early tomorrow.

Get up early on vacation? Phooey. The Vikings made my day, as their win (really a Kansas City loss) gave the Patriots home field for the playoffs. Minnesoter rules.

Mmmmmm, lefse. Ya sure, you betcha.

Even though I'm not a football fan, it warms my heart to hear that the Vikings kicked butt. I'm descended from vikings, after all.

Should I know what the picture in this LJ icon is? Am I just blind to the obvious? You've received compliments on it, and I have no idea where it's from!

I thought it looked familiar, but I knew that what I was thinking it might be was not correct. I have seen The Princess Bride, although it has been some time, which would explain my inability to place the picture to the movie.

I guess that just means I'll have to see it again soon, huh? :)
