First best friend(s): Katie Schlaak. From kindergarten until she started being homeschooled in third grade.
First real memory of something: Waking up from a nap and being excited because I was going to my grandparents' house.
First car: What car?
First date: I still maintain I've only had one real date--something identifiable as such, when I was actually asked to dinner and we ate things and watched a movie. It was ... two Decembers ago. I remember that because we saw Ocean's Eleven on its opening weekend.
First real kiss: About a week after that first date, if I remember correctly. It also surprised me immensely; that I do remember.
First break-up: Again, this is my only. It was on the night of the Twins' first game in the ALCS last year. The only one they won.
First job: The one I have now.
First screen name: ylloh2221--my first name and my birthday backwards.
First self purchased album: Please, God, don't let it be New Kids on the Block. Even I get embarrassed sometimes, and that would do it.
First funeral: My great-uncle ... who, along with his wife, were basically a third set of grandparents to my brother and I. They lived a few miles from us and were childless themselves. I don't remember how old I was--early elementary school, I'd guess--but I remember my mom crying during the service. I didn't know why she was crying, and it scared me.
First pet: The dog we inherited from my grandma when my parents moved to the farm where my dad's parents had lived until then. Its name was Alka, and it had to be put to sleep after it bit my brother just under his eye.
First piercing/tattoo: I got my ears pierced when I was maybe ten. It was one of those rules my mom had that I didn't know about until after it didn't apply anymore: you can't get your ears pierced until you're ten (it'd never occurred to me to get my ears pierced, that'd been my mom's idea); you can't date until you're 16 (I didn't date until I was 20); you can't stay out past 12:00 (when did I ever go anywhere?).
First house/flat/apartment: The aforementioned farm my parents moved to some months before I was born.
First credit card: I've never had one, but I've recently been thinking it would be a really good idea.
First true love: I'm going to steal [livejournal.com profile] kratkrat's answer here, verbatim, because it's perfect. "Baseball. (Yes, I fully expect to be taken to task by several people for that response, but it is the most honest answer I can give.)"
First enemy: I don't keep track of enemies.
First big trip: I dno't remember.
First play/musical/performance: When I was in kindergarten, we did a play at the end of the year for the incoming kindergarteners and their parents. It was "The Bernstein Bears Go to School" or whatever that book is called. We painted sets on cardboard, made ears for the bears of out brown paper ... I was the narrator, because I was the best reader. I apparently taught myself when I was three; I don't remember learning to read). The only thing I remember about the play is that I got to sit on a chair that was on top of a table--little kid furniture in both cases, of course, but I thought I was really cool. There were two boys whose job (well, it was only one of their jobs) was to take my hands and help me up and down without falilng, and I thought that was cool too.
First musician you remember hearing in your house: I remember Bruce Springsteen, because he was my favorite, even before I could read his name on the album I knew it for the red and white stripes, and I already knew the skill of placing the needle on the vinyl without scratching it. "Born in the U.S.A." was my first favorite song.

Lasts

Last cigarette: Never!
Last car ride: Coming home from Pizza Hut, where Matthew, Sarah, Katie, Josh and I had lunch.
Last kiss: I actually don't remember which one was last. All my memories of that time are rather fuzzy ... probably because I was very sleepy.
Last good cry: I hate crying.
Last library book checked out: It's still sitting on the floor, unfinished: Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates, by Tom Robbins. It's great and I'll probably go back to it tonight.
Last movie seen: Matthew and I watched Chicken Run last night, because he hadn't seen it before.
Last cuss word uttered: I don't swear, particularly.
Last beverage drank: Water. Maybe the cherry Coke; I can't remember now.
Last food consumed: Penne alfredo. I made it myself!
Last crush: Sixth grade. Probably my only crush; he turned out to be a jerk and I didn't bother having crushes on people after that.
Last phone call: Called my mom about an hour ago.
Last tv show watched: "All Good Things, Part II." I watched a ton of TNG this afternoon.
Last time showered: This morning. Not long before noon, but it was this morning.
Last shoes worn: My cool, cheap, comfortable sandals that cost nine dollars or something at Wal-Mart.
Last cd played: Perhaps Under the Table and Dreaming. Unless you count the terrible CD [livejournal.com profile] mllesarah was reviewing, of which she played a short excerpt to demonstrate to me how terrible it was.
Last item bought: Pizza for me and Matthew.
Last annoyance: My computer still doesn't have Internet access!
Last disappointment: See above.
last ice cream eaten: Mint chocolate chip, a few days ago.
last time wanting to die: Who wants to die?!
last time scolded: I've spent the last day around [livejournal.com profile] comradexavier, so it can't have been that long ago.
last shirt worn: I am currently wearing a shirt. It's a short-sleeved sweater kind of thing with stripes on it.
last webpage visited: My LJ friends page, where I got this, of course. Before that, I wrote an e-mail to Matthew, mostly to tell him my Internet still doesn't work.

Glad to see another baseball fan on my friends list! Brings a smile to my face, it does!

(And means that when I eventually post about my fantasy baseball team, maybe somebody will actually read it.)

*no longer feels like the only person on this planet who hasn't at least tried smoking at some point* :)

Yey. And now of course I must steal this survey from you...*hides it under her arm and sneaks out the door* :P

True, I shouldn't, but often being in the minority makes me feel a bit insecure.

Let's start a club!

You are definitely NOT the only one. I refuse to ever smoke, not even just one to see what it's like. I've grown up watching how it's controlled my parents' lives, and I'm not about to consciously choose to pollute my lungs.

So, there's you, me, Holly, and Holly's and my friend Seth, too. Four! We should definitely start a club!

Same here...my mother started smoking when she was sixteen, and it took her more than a decade to quit (even now she's still struggling) Watching her go through that put me off cigarettes for life. Strangely enough though, my sister is a smoker. *shrugs* I could never understand that.

*beams*...yes lets start a club :) There must be more of us out there too...people who've never smoked and don't want to :)

I also don't understand how watching a loved one struggle with having nicotine control your life could still make you a smoker. My brother smoked for some time, although I don't know how regularly. My sister started smoking her freshman year of college and was able to quit this summer, although she admitted it was tough. If it's that hard to quit after smoking less than a year, I can only imagine what it must be like to try quitting after smoking for quite some time. I couldn't understand their reasons for smoking, either. More power to us for having the strength to not start!

Okay! We can be co-presidents of the club! I know several people who have never tried and never plan on it. We're definitely not the only ones! We could even make t-shirts! :)
