The LJ^2 meme
Jun. 5th, 2003 08:38 am(Name stolen from
5_rings, as promised. "LJ2 = an LJ meme about LJ ;)" I told him I liked that name for it and may steal it, and so I have.)
1. Your Live Journal user name and what it means: I'm
holly_lama. It's a pun! Lots of people don't get it; they see "holy llama" or "holly llama" or just don't know the difference between lama and llama. I like llamas and all, but I originally picked this name because it's a pun! It rhymes with "Dalai Lama." But like most puns it helps if you hear it instead of read it. So that's what I get for counting on people to notice a rhyme in a name I use for text communication.
2. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your Live Journal represent who you actually are? It's as good as I can make it. Sure, not everything is there, but come on! Nobody says everything about themselves. 8 or 9.
3. How much about your life do you post to LJ? I don't say "this is how I spent my day" a lot, and even when I do you're in for a pretty random account. Yet usually my life somehow spawns my entries. My journal is, fundamentally, about whatever I find interesting at the moment.
4. Is there anything you refuse to post about? Yep. Though most of that's because of the fact that people I know in real life read this. Or because I don't want to impose all my stupidhead-ness on the world that didn't ask for it or do anything to deserve it.
5. On a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others? People do appear to be reading it, so there's that. I'd hope for generally around a 5 or 6 with the occasional 8 or 9 entry (and, I suppose, the occasion 1 or 2 entry).
6. From who/how did you find out about LJ?
soltice told me about it when I was lamenting the fact that I never write anything anymore. She gave me a code, and here I am.
7. Has anyone ever joined LJ because of you? Jenn
evil_grapefruit heard me talking about it and got a code. Her then-boyfriend
nebraska_boy actually got my free code, wrote three entries or something, and hasn't touched it since. Al found out about it and was interested, which didn't surprise me; she's
star_eyed_lady. Ditto with
setharoo. And I wonder if
xsilverfox didn't join up because of his friends here.
8. What proportion of your posts are friends only? None.
9. What is your favourite interest on LJ? It's funny that we managed a full-contact slow dancing interest (which you can read more about here).
10. How often do you respond to/comment on other peoples' journals? I read my friends' entries often, but don't always have anything to say. Whenever I do (or think I do), I say something. I've given a hundred or two more comments than I've received.
11. Do you prefer to write in your journal or read other journals? I like both, in their own way.
12. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on LJ (or did it to someone else)? No.
13. Have you ever banned someone from your journal? No.
14. Who is/are your favourite LJ friend(s) and why? I'm just gonna skip this one. Reminds me of back in the day when me and my cousins would all decide who was our favorite cousin and then tell all the other cousins.
15. How many of your LJ friends have you actually met? Well ... the ones I actually am friends with. All the people listed in #7 and
ismelljello--oh, and I suppose I should add
soltice too, since she was only mentioned in the question before.
16. Of all of the people on LJ you know of, who is the most like you?
star_eyed_lady, perhaps
17. Why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list? Because I want to see their journal on my friends page.
18. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first? Almost always. It's not automatic, but often people who like me are people I like--and, it seems, vice versa. If I don't add someone, it's no great insult; I have weird standards (I really like people who use grammar, for instance).
19. Is your "significant other" on LJ? Nope. I asked him once; he wasn't interested. He has a website anyway.
20. Have you ever wanted to meet someone on LJ? If only to hear them play the kazoo ...
