I was reading something, so it took a second for my brain to catch up with my ears.

"Calm grey ocean?" I was worried this was going to be part of his anti-sunshine, pro-overcast worldview, but no.

"Yeah, well, he's colorblind!" Andrew explained.

Many are raised in Manchester, but do many love it?

All I know about Manchester is from cop shows: Scott & Bailey and Life on Mars.i

Manchester is the greatest city in the world. One of its best features is the lack of sunlight. Another is the ready supply of rain (though this year has been annoying as there have been maybe a dozen dry, sunny, days). It builds character.

Ah. We have cities like this as well: Portland & Seattle are famous for their characters, and staying in all the time except when bicycling.

Both of those shows make Manchester look WAY more cheerful, sunny, and lacking in murderers than it actually is.

Life on Mars is pretty accurate, as far as I can tell. :) The part of Manchester we live in has changed so little since the seventies a shops around the corner was used as a set.
