I love everything about my new hair cut -- I basked in compliments from Andrew's mom and Jennie about how well it suited me, on Sunday -- except that I still haven't gotten used to how cold the back of my head gets now!

Ha, this! (Not that I have a great deal of hair at the best of times). I went out for the daily waddle earlier, and my head practically tried to shrink into my torso the instant I stepped outside and the cold air settled on the back of my neck - really glad I had a hat to pull on, but need to find my scarf.

My hair wasn't even that long! It is awfully thick, though, which annoyingly means it sticks out in all directions and looks scruffy any time it's been more than a week since I had a haircut. But I guess it's providing insulation too! Because this #2-on-the-back-and-sides is still leaving me shivering. And yes, I too have learned the scarf is at least as important as the hat. :)

Wow, #2 is shorter than I normally go - #3, I don't have to specify back and sides anymore, there isn't anything else left! I'd call my hair fine not thick, but leave it untrimmed for much more than a month and my sister calls it the 'mad professor' look...

Not quite sure what I ended up with this time as being hospitalised messed with my plans for a pre-Christmas haircut, and rather than trying to get one on the 24th let my sister and brother-in-law loose on me with one of those home-trimming gizmos. It actually worked surprisingly well.

Yeah, I have one of those; sometimes I'll cut my own hair (though these days I like it a bit longer at the front than elsewhere and that's impossible for me to make look good by myself...). I cut Andrew's hair, too, since he so detests having his hair cut (he didn't, at all, for something like 11 years) that he wouldn't let anyone but me do it. So he gets a #4 all over, once or twice a year.
