Good things
Dec. 31st, 2014 11:29 am...because I know I've been complaining a lot lately, and I don't want to give the impression that things are all bad.
1. I'm wearing the sweatshirt my parents got me for my birthday. It's soft and warn and brightly colored, in a rainbow design that'll come in handy for Pride or Plus stuff, a fact which I barely was able to keep from mentioning in my delight at first seeing it.
2. Amidst the stress-inducing DWP brown envelopes and nasty TV-licence letter (they never believe us about not having a TV), there was one especially good piece of mail to serve as an antidote to that depressing stuff: a beautiful postcard from
nanila, which also made me smile by being addressed to Holly Strangecharm.
3. Em J has posted on Facebook a photo of my birthday present, a beanbag chair that she made herself! It looks great, and it'll definitely come in handy in this house that's so often short of chairs. Such a thoughtful and lovely gift; I can't wait to pick it up.
4. There's actually a bit of sun in Manchester today, which makes me feel much happier about being back here. It's nice to sit in a sunny window reading, and it'll probably help my body remember what time zone it's supposed to think it's in now, too.
5. A lot of people are telling me how happy they are that I'm back. I have great friends, and I'm lucky to have them.
