I thought it when I first started watching Blakes 7 a while ago, having already been thoroughly indoctrinated with Yes (Prime) Minister, but now that I'm revisiting the latter to keep me company while I'm knitting, it strikes me again how plausibly I can imagine many of Sir Humphrey's lines coming out of Avon's mouth. :)
Yeah, he's more concerned with manners but I get the impression that's entirely a self-preservation instinct. If you made him a prisoner on the run in space, I'm not sure he wouldn't say all the things he thinks, which might be quite a lot like what Avon says. :)
But yes, Francis Urquhart is a really good comparison; I like that.
Fair point. But, yes, they all hree have the same level of self-presrvation once described as "Greater love hath no man than this - that he lay down his friends for his job."
