Andrew's reading these books and listening to podcasts about being a writer, making a living from writing.

And even just hearing them or hearing about them is so unutterably tedious that, much as I like writing, I will never be a writer.

As one whose wife is a writer I can tell you it's as boring as all-get-out. And also people keep coming up to you saying things like "wow it must be so great being married to such a talented person... etc etc" which gets old quickly too. Sometimes they follow up with "so are you a writer too?" and when I reply that I am not, they look bored and wander off.
