My daydreams are all of salads now

I always forget that, after a couple of days here, I'm just hungry all the goddam time.

There's no protein here, except in the meat I have to eat which makes me sick, but there's hardly even any vegetables. The only one I've had since I've gotten here is corn on the cob.

Haha. Sounds like visiting my in-laws in the Czech Republic. Gherkins, potatoes and cabbage are the only vegetables that feature in Czech cuisine.

Of course other parts of America and its cuisine are vegetable-laden, but my stereotypically-Minnesotan heritage -- German and Scandinavian -- sounds no better for one's five a day than Czech. If you have to count potatoes as a vegetable, it's not a good sign. ;)
