Today's reasons I like Andrew

1. There's a picture of an actual quick brown fox jumping over a lazy dog that, every time he sees it, makes Andrew really happy. He says it's because the fox and the dog both look so happy.

Human happiness may or may not make Andrew happy, but dog happiness almost always does.

2. He bought a bunch of fancy chocolate the other day. A lot of it's stuff he knows I don't like fruit in my chocolate, or salt, or milk) but one of them is mint dark chocolate. He keeps all the chocolate in the fridge, and I just noticed that the mint dark chocolate is underneath the punnet of mushrooms.

As if to say "this one's been claimed by Holly, for mushrooms are her weird food and nothing to do with me."

Well he's so anti-social that otherwise no one but me would ever get to know these things, and that'd be a shame. :)

This is because Dogs are, by-and-large, better than people.

Maybe it's an Andrew thing (though I get the impression you like people more than this Andrew does; for him, you could take out the words between the two commas in your sentence).

I wasn't being entirely serious.

But, for the sake of explanation, dogs are easier to understand than people, more likely to tend towards playful friendliness, and (with most dogs) are utterly reliable and predictable when you get to know them.

People, not so much. The rewards are much higher (in my experience), but so are the risks. Dogs are great company, so long as you're willing to get your intellectual stimulation from books/the internet.

And, frankly, people just aren't fluffy enough :->
