[297/365] getting dull stuff done
Oct. 24th, 2019 11:09 pmToday was the first day in at least a week that I didn't need a nap at the soonest available moment, so that's good.
I even managed to tackle some long-overdue tidying in my bedroom, which for now mostly consists of making a big pile of all the clothes I'm too fat or insufficiently a girl to wear any more (while also finding some much-loved dresses and jewelry that I've been missing, so it's not as if I've shunned femme-y things entirely it just...has to be the right ones). It maybe wasn't the most sensible idea for the latest in a long run of bad mental health days, and particularly one where I was bothered by my clothes not fitting right lately and the resulting tedious self-loathing internalized fatphobia. But I'm glad I've done the chore, even if all I've done for now is bag clothes up and move them to the spare room.
I also made some efforts at bagging up a yarn stash I was gifted a long time ago and which I'm not likely to want to use. It'll go to L my employer's husband, but in dribs and drabs because there's only so much I'm going to carry on the bus at one time. I have about six plastic bags full and I thought I was done but there's another box of it hiding under the bed still! That'll have to wait. The yarn is also in the spare room. At some point I'll have to assemble a bed in there again and there won't be as much room for all the junk I need to get rid of!
Clocks go back on Sunday, which means it's going to get dark even earlier, ugh. I need to actually take the vitamin D and use the daylight lamp; it apparently not enough to just have them in the house somewhere. My friend Sarah said yesterday that her SAD had kicked in hard and fast this year and only then did it occur to me that mine probably has as well. I expect the first week or two of uni to be full of naps, but here we are nearly at reading week and it's gotten worse instead of better. So I'm really grateful to have gotten anything beyond the bare minimum done today; it's so rare lately.
