looks like I've acclimated to the new house

...because I'm stumbling into and out of the bathroom at Andrew's parents', and being really unnerved that I don't have to step down/up respectively.

My sore ankle is glad this house doesn't have as many random steps up and down as ours (I have two just to get from our bedroom to our bathroom, which is nothing until your ankle hurts), but the rest of me has already decided that a house actually being on the level is Weird.

Those small deviations (or in you and your poor ankles case - not so small!) always throw me for a loop. The bathroom counter being a few inches out further than my own, or if a person puts a shelf quite where I wouldn't put it - I so get this.

It's funny because when I'm in my house, I don't feel like I'm used to it: I am still surprised by/wary of the steps down into the bathroom or kitchen or whatever, I still bump into walls that aren't quite where I think they should be, and misjudge the space or size of things in the house. So I wrote this because I thought it was worth noting that, however awkward I might feel on occasion still, part of me has already gotten used to this.
