I've been camping on the hottest days of this summer. We just got home and I've had a shower and am drying off in front of a fan.

I am so grateful for electricity and indoor plumbing.

Infrastructure is great.

There are ice cubes in this house! I'm lying on a bed that won't deflate under me!

V did so much work to keep the house cool yesterday particularly, it is very impressive.

Oh good. No air con on two trains. No loo on this train. The only good thing has been that I got table seats and work done

Oof, sounds like you were roughing it about as much as we were in the field! At least we had loos (if not always soap or toilet paper).

I have spent the week moving between B&Bs so I will very grateful to get back to my own home tomorrow.

The holiday was amazing though - 2 days at my parents, 2 days on Skye, 4 days on Lewis.

We cheated by camping in the garden of one of Kim's friends, so access to real kitchen but cooler at night in tent than in a house. Also less effing hot by about 4-6C by the Isle of Wight than sodding Birmingham-Binfest-Land.

Camping with nowhere cool to decamp to is hard work at even 23-24C nevermind the 28+ silly nonsense we were all having.
