Sparkly day

D and I spent the afternoon wandering around Sparkle, supporting local queer and trans creators by purchasing many stickers and suchlike for V and D's girlfriend who weren't able to make it, having ice cream, getting excited about the many good dogs we saw, and then going for cocktails and taking a photo of ourselves kissing.

I think we did.

I had some big feelings too, but I think I managed them okay.

It was a good day, but it was also kind of a lot and yesterday was definitely a lot, and I'm left with, if not the Sunday-night morbs, at least the conviction that I need longer breaks in my near future. (On Friday morning's check-in with my team, I found out that One of my colleagues is off to Toledo (in Spain, not Ohio) and another to Budapest, and man I'm so envious. Especially of the people going to Spain, who are doing it on a ferry! I was like "hm maybe I'll spend a couple extra days in Exeter when I have to go there for a work trip..." haha. But no, even that was too much to contemplate on my own so I'm just going for the required overnight.

*hugs* Yes, a longer break would be a good idea - there's a reason that certain jobs mandate a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks off in a given calendar year....

I don't think I've ever had more than a week off of paid employment at a time.

So this is a really interesting perspective.
