Three good things

1) I had about 200 unread comments in my DW inbox that I cleared this afternoon, replying to some, leaving more alone but I promise I appreciate them all.
It has been a hard few weeks, accumulating all of these things you all are being so nice to me about.
2) I did three loads of laundry today, when usually I keep on top of it sufficiently that I never have more than a load to do at a time. I've needed all my smart clothes and all my gym clothes lately it feels like. They add up.
Feels good to be starting the week without such backlogs.
3) I managed to order groceries online yesterday, almost no delivery slots today but D obliged by driving us to collect it. I'm glad not to have a empty fridge looming in the back of my mind as Another Thing that Needs to Be Sorted Out.
A day of re-setting cyclical systems, so that they can descend in to chaos all over again.

Date: 2025-02-17 01:01 am (UTC)Hurrah for laundry clearing; Kim is extremely good at laundry fairying (she's the compsci and likes to control the laundry drying/washing system with her optimisation brain as our constraint is drying space). Hope it is easier to keep up without too much more backlogging this week.
Food is good for you, yay for click and collect, still avoids the sensory hell that is supermarkets. Honestly don't know how folk go in there more often than rare cos yeuch!
Wishing you a calmer and easier to survive week. I shall scowl at the universe to demand this of course!

Oh I agree. I don't think anyone particularly noticed or cared that I've been treating this as a broadcast-only medium lately, and I'm not worried about it if they did. It's not like I'm "oh, what a faux pas," it's just one of those barometers of how I'm doing, like "oh if I've let this slide to that degree that doesn't bode well."

Thank you for your efforts - it's an alarmingly quiet work day so far! :)

Date: 2025-02-17 02:13 pm (UTC)I think of times like this as plate spinning. Yes you have to go and do it again in a bit, but it keeps you going a while longer.
I'll blame AI
Date: 2025-02-17 10:31 pm (UTC)...but my first thought when I read "needed all my smart clothes" was "huh, have they come up with talking t-shirts now?"
I surely did appreciate the stack o' comments from you today!

For anyone who isn't clear, "smart" has the same meaning here as "dress(y)" in the U.S. So I've been at a lot of work events lately where I've had to be fancier than the hoodies I usually work in. :)
