I was really charmed this morning m to see a friend say on social media "Second puberty in your 40s is a weirdly wholesome experience. Normally the only surprises your body has left for you once you leave your 20s behind are unpleasant ones."

He goes on to talk about what color his facial hair is turning out to be, and it reminded me that, since I'm adopted, I have absolutely no idea what to expect about facial hair, baldness, etc. The only way to find out is do it myself!

I'm so glad I get to.

I hadn't really thought about it before this, to be honest! But maybe I will end up with stronger feelings once there's something to have feelings about.

Perhaps it's just not come up in posts, or maybe I forgot, but I didn't realize you are adopted.

I'm not sensitive about it or anything, but it doesn't come up a lot. I was adopted as an infant and I have never felt that I have a family other than the one you know about.

wait is facial hair not usually the same color as the hair on your head?

I don't know about usually, but mine at least is subtly different. They're both approximately brown, but my beard is slightly darker and has a lot more red in it.

huh. I had never noticed that in anyone except if they have a white beard and colored hair, which I assumed was just hair dye. Thanks!

Oh, that may also be natural - perhaps not if the beard is completely white and the hair not at all, but my Dad's beard went grey a lot earlier than his head hair, and I'm noticing the beginnings of the same trend in myself.
