I'll probably update this with more details, but the vet woke us up at nine in a very happy voice saying he'd done great overnight, he's walking better, he's been out for pees, the overnight staff are really happy with him, and he's even let them pick him up without trying to nibble them so that's good (he's in a cage that's off the floor so I suspect he's learned that this is to his benefit, but he's so stubborn that even his own benefit isn't enough to get him to behave sometimes so I'm delighted to hear this!).

We have an appointment to get him at 4. I just wanted to say thank you for all your kind comments while all this has been going on. I cannot emphasize how unlikely a swift or even decisive recovery felt. I walked around our dog-friendly rental yesterday thinking our dog would never get to see it. I'm so glad to be wrong, but it's a real whiplash situation to be so very wrong.

Really relieved and pleased to hear good news and signs of Gary naughtiness as a sign of wellness for him. I hope you get to enjoy some of your holiday all together and Gary continues to be as well as he can be. Those vets sound like fantastic people.

That’s wonderful! I hope that you and D and MB and Gary are able to relax a little bit and enjoy a little of the vacation rental, or if nothing else, to safely collapse and recover a little.
