And, falling as it does between my birthday and my favorite Christmas, this day is just another part of the very prescribed holiday season for me.

Today I feel like I should be making pies (pumpkin, cherry, and then the third is always something my mom actually likes). My mom always insists we make the Christmas Eve pies the day before. Today she will be making all the pies by herself and that is weird and bad!
