I woke up this morning convinced it was Wednesday, so my morning was spent mentally expecting to go to work...and then when I realized I didn't have to, I was a little discombobulated. I felt like I was left with nothing to do.
Of course this is the furthest thing from true, and I spent the afternoon doing laundry, sorting out my bedroom, changing the bedding, doing some admin tasks, and going for a long walk to Gary's vet to collect more of the meds he was about to run out of. They definitely seem to be helping him get back to his old self.
I got back just as it was starting to rain so that was lucky as I'd gone out without the Big Coat today; I was too warm on the walk there but glad for my layers, absorbant as they were, on my way back. It was worth it, to go out without bundling up and trudging along in my boots. I saw people with no jackets at all, and the inevitable one white guy in shorts. L was telling me at work yesterday about a shirt from the Very British Problems shop that says "10°C? I'm thinking about breaking out the shorts" and here it was in real life already.
Sadly after seeing so many pancakes on social media, I wasn't able to make any today because we don't have flour, but I made dinner anyway: a quorn roast and a ton of roasted vegetables. Butternut t squash, sweet potato, red peppers, cherry tomatoes, and leeks. I hadn't had roasted leeks before but they were great, I'll definitely have to keep that in mind for future. And since we couldn't have pancakes we had (toaster) waffles, figuring that was the next best thing, with ice cream for dessert.
