8. Do you often make impulsive purchases?

Absolutely not. I struggle even to buy things I need, like clothes. I just asked mother_bones if she could add granola to the shopping list because I've eaten the last of the old box and I even feel bad about that.

(I think about impulse purchases all the time -- having just learned from hafnia that plaid flannel hoodies exist, of course I want one now because that is the most Me thing I can imagine -- I just never feel able to make them.)

I relate to this very hard. It took me a long time to be able to talk myself into buying the LL Bean one, and only then because Max pointed out that it's likely to last a long time!

I'm just so used to not having money for things. It's really gotten to me, I really do believe I don't need/deserve anything, and that's no good.

I'm finding this year curious in that without commute costs I can afford a ten or twenty pound this or that every few weeks.

I am much more disposed to buying things for others that they want, or doing so on impulse, than I am for myself, size is much easier to justify it as helping someone out as opposed to the internal narrative that is selfish and wrong to do such things for yourself. (It also isn't helping that I got used to not having enough money to do basically anything for myself when dealing with a bad relationship, so I learned not to want things.)

I make impulse purchases sometimes and at other times stress forever with decision paralysis. I am not sure why.

/hugs/ yeah, the internal voices are really mean, sometimes. I've found asking myself 'would you yell at your bff for buying this?' helpful.
